The project is part of Severn Trent’s AMP8 investment cycle and aims to boost capacity, cut storm overflows and reduce phosphorus levels in the River Severn.
Kier’s Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks arm will handle design, construction and commissioning work, having already started early contractor involvement last year.
The job includes a new activated sludge plant dosing system, an extra final settlement tank and improved sludge treatment.
Rob Campbell, operations director at Kier, said that work was now moving into the construction phase with completion slated for 2027.
Severn Trent project manager Kaung Set Thar added: “This is a major investment programme for Worcestershire. It will improve river health and boost capacity and efficiency at the site.”
The win strengthens Kier’s two-decade partnership with Severn Trent and builds on recent water sector successes, including slots on Yorkshire Water’s £850m complex works framework and Southern Water’s £3.1bn strategic development programme.
